Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Semillon
A fascinating story behind a delicious wine. This estate in Bordeaux was destroyed by the phylloxera epidemic (an insect native to the Americas that ravaged European vines) and was then abandoned by the owners. 120 years later it was rediscovered, rehabilitated, and replanted, making it the first 'new' winery in Graves this century. Classic Bordeaux styles are present here, with this white being a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, and Semillon.
Crisp citrus and green apple from Sauvignon Blanc blend seamlessly with rounder Sémillon notes of honeydew melon and subtle spice. The wine is mineral-driven, fresh, and precise, with a silky mid-palate and a clean, refreshing finish.
Ideal with shellfish, goat cheese salads, or light Asian cuisine.
