Grapes: 100% Sangiovese
From the rolling hills of Montalcino, Palazzo is a small, quality-focused estate dedicated to traditional expressions of Brunello. Working with hillside vineyards and a restrained approach in the cellar, the aim is to capture the structure, elegance, and aging potential that define the appellation.
"Cosimo" is an elegant Brunello dedicated to the memory of the founder, Cosimo Loia, who strongly believed in the potential of the vineyards in Montalcino. The grapes for this wine are harvested from the first vineyard planted by Cosimo in 1985, and the wine is only made in the best years. Aged for an extended period in large oak casks in line with DOCG requirements, the élevage is designed to soften tannins while maintaining the wine’s natural tension and depth.
Structured and composed, it opens with notes of dried cherry, plum, and rose, alongside hints of leather, tobacco, and spice. The palate is firm yet balanced, with fine-grained tannins and bright acidity carrying through a long, savory finish. A natural pairing for braised meats, aged cheeses, or classic Tuscan dishes.
