Grapes: 100% Chardonnay

At the helm of this benchmark grower estate, Pascal Agrapart has built a reputation as one of Champagne’s most exacting terroir interpreters. Working exclusively with Grand Cru Chardonnay in Avize, Agrapart crafts wines that are transparent, structured, and unapologetically site-driven. 

This 100% Chardonnay from a single historic parcel in Avize known as La Fosse aux Pourceaux, planted in 1959. The site sits on deep, pure chalk with extremely low yields, producing fruit of remarkable concentration and mineral intensity. The vineyard is worked meticulously by hand, farmed sustainably with organic principles, and plowed by horse to preserve soil structure and vitality. Produced only in select vintages and in very small quantities, it represents the pinnacle of the domaine’s philosophy: terroir first, minimal intervention, and uncompromising attention to detail.

Deep, layered, and quietly powerful. Aromas of preserved lemon, ripe pear, toasted almond, and crushed chalk rise from the glass. The palate is concentrated yet tightly structured — ripe citrus and orchard fruit wrapped around saline minerality, subtle oak nuance, and a long, resonant finish. There is breadth from the vintage, but always tension at the core.
