Grapes: Cinsault, Syrah, and Tempranillo
Another wine for the history books! Wine has been made in Lebanon for over 5000 years and has always been a major part of history and trade in the country. Domaine des Tourelles was founded in 1868, marking it as one for the first modern wineries in the area. The Bekaa Valley is noteworthy for its altitude, with this particular vineyard standing at 3500 feet above sea level.
The wine is fresh and light, from a blend of Cinsault, Syrah, and Tempranillo. Strawberries and white peach with a lightly savory finish make this an easy summer sipper. The wine is dry-farmed and uses only indigenous yeasts, making it truly local and sustainable.
Delightful with Mediterranean tapas, this wine begs for dolmas and hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, and of course shawarma-style skewered meats!
