Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc with a touch of Semillon

For more than four decades, Groth has quietly built a reputation for Sauvignon Blanc that balances Napa richness with brightness and precision. Through careful vineyard sourcing and thoughtful cellar work, the winery has refined a style that is aromatic, layered, and refreshingly drinkable.

Sauvignon Blanc has been part of the Groth story since the winery was founded in 1982. Fruit for this wine is sourced from a range of sites across Napa Valley, including the Groth family’s Oakville Estate. The blend also includes a touch of Sémillon from the estate vineyards, adding texture and depth while maintaining the freshness that defines great Napa Sauvignon Blanc.

The Sauvignon Blanc and estate Sémillon were whole-cluster pressed, with the estate fruit co-pressed and co-fermented to integrate flavors from the start. Fermentation took place in neutral oak barrels, followed by just over three months aging on the lees. This approach builds texture and complexity while preserving the wine’s bright fruit and lively acidity.

A vibrant lemon-yellow in the glass, with aromas of honeydew melon, green apple, pear nectar, and a hint of beeswax. On the palate, crisp citrus and ripe melon glide into a long, juicy finish. A perfect companion to seafood, fresh salads, or simply a sunny afternoon.
