Il Marroneto was founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Mori on the cool, steep slopes just north of Montalcino, the sector that boasts many of the region’s most elegant Brunellos.
A wine that sees a relatively short and hot fermentation, Il Marroneto respects local winemaking tradition and remains true in spirit. The steep verticality of the bouquet evokes almost-carbonic or lifted aromas of bright cherry, strawberry shortcake, lilac and heritage rose. You get straight to the heart of Sangiovese. Il Marronetto 2020 is a superbly-crafted wine that balances richness and elegance. It can be enjoyed now but has the potential to develop further complexity with time in the bottle. Pair it with rich dishes such as roasted meats, hearty pasta, or aged cheeses for an exceptional experience..
