Grapes: 100% Côt (Malbec)
From his estate near Montrichard, Jean François Mérieau tends some of the most expressive vines in Touraine. With Cent Visages (“A Hundred Faces”), he celebrates his oldest Côt blocks—over fifty years old—on clay-limestone soils, delivering depth, character and vintage-specific personality.
Vinified with native yeasts and without exogenous additions, the 2023 sees a long maceration period in vats and aging in concrete to preserve the purity of fruit and site. It’s bold yet focused, untouched by oak to let the grape and terroir speak.
In the glass: intense garnet colour leads into fragrant aromas of ripe blackcurrant, crushed red berries, violets and a touch of warm spice. On the palate, juicy plum and cassis play alongside chalky minerality and smooth, fine tannins. The finish is long, savoury and lingering—this is Côt showing serious character. Pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, hearty stews, or strong cheese boards.

- For returns of wines which are corked, please re-seal after tasting and return us the (nearly) full bottle. We cannot exchange if the bottle has been consumed.
