Grapes: 100% Chardonnay

For six generations, the Bitouzet family has been quietly shaping the character of Meursault — producing wines that are refined, understated, and deeply true to their place. Vincent Bitouzet and Anne-Françoise Prieur (whose family roots also run through Volnay) continue that tradition with remarkable consistency. Their Clos du Cromin vineyard, perched on the northern edge of the village, gives Chardonnay of purity and mineral tension, balanced by subtle richness.

The 2022 vintage captures that balance beautifully. Fermented with native yeasts and aged for 12 months in mostly neutral oak, it’s a wine of texture without weight — shaped by gentle lees contact and restrained winemaking. The goal is always clarity, not flash.

On the nose, it opens with ripe pear, lemon zest, and a touch of hazelnut, evolving into notes of white peach and wet stone. The palate is elegant and layered, showing both freshness and quiet power, with a long saline finish that’s signature to this site. A timeless Meursault — poised, mineral, and deeply satisfying.
