Founded in the 1970s by Stelios Alexakis, the Alexakis winery is the single most important wine producer on the island of Crete. Stelios’ sons Lazaros and Apostoli are now in charge of day-to-day operations and tap into both their deep winemaking know-how and uniquely extensive relationships among the small growers of the island to deliver delicious small-production cuvées.
Incredibly refreshing but serious at the same time, their Assyrtiko opens beautifully in the glass after a few swirls and add it rewards with flinty and citrus zest notes, accompanied by a smoky character. The lean, super fresh acidity is merged harmoniously with a creamy body showing elegant biscuit undertones.

We regret that the only products we can accept for return are faulty goods where we will provide a like-for-like replacement.
- To exchange we require the faulty product to be returned to the store.
- For returns of wines which are corked, please re-seal after tasting and return us the (nearly) full bottle. We cannot exchange if the bottle has been consumed.
- If the same product is not available, we will refund in full to the original form of payment.
- Any returns are at the customer’s expense.
