Grapes: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Certified organic and biodynamic estate fruit from Yountville, Rutherford, and Calistoga — a cross-section of Napa terroir showcasing varied soils and exposures, all hand-harvested and meticulously sorted... This is what makes the Grgich Cabernet legendary.
The 2013 vintage was one for the record books — long, even, and perfectly suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. Grgich Hills took full advantage, crafting a wine of remarkable depth and balance. This is classic Napa structure wrapped in the estate’s signature restraint: ripe fruit, fine tannins, and a mineral clarity that sets it apart from flashier peers.
Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts, followed by aging in French oak barrels, a portion new, to build structure and texture without overt wood influence. The result is a Cabernet that feels timeless — dark and layered, but never heavy.
Aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and anise lead into subtler notes of graphite, tobacco leaf, and dried herbs. The palate is firm and elegant, with rich fruit at its core balanced by bright acidity and savory depth. The finish is long, dry, and dusted with cocoa and Rutherford earth.
