Crafted by actor-turned-winemaker Kyle MacLachlan, “Pursued by Bear” has become one of Washington’s quiet success stories — proof that polish and authenticity can share the same glass. The 2022 Cabernet shows classic varietal intensity with a distinctly Columbia Valley freshness.
Fermentation occurs in small lots, followed by aging in French oak for nearly two years to round the tannins and deepen the wine’s savory core. The result is a Cabernet that’s both structured and expressive, carrying the precision of a serious cellar with the generosity of the Pacific Northwest sun.
The nose opens with blackcurrant, plum, and cassis, layered with cedar, graphite, and subtle cocoa. On the palate, the wine is plush yet disciplined — ripe dark fruit wrapped in fine tannins and lifted by bright acidity. The finish is long and composed, with notes of spice and a faint mineral echo.
