In the cool, wind-swept plateau of Amyndeon in northern Greece, Alpha Estate has reimagined the island-born Assyrtiko for a continental climate. Their Ecosystem “Aghia Kiriaki” bottling shows just how versatile this noble grape can be — crystalline, structured, and pulsing with energy.
The vineyard, rooted in ancient lakebed soils, yields naturally low quantities of fruit with incredible concentration. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel with native yeasts, followed by a brief rest on lees to build texture without losing freshness. The result is a wine that feels sculpted and alive — all precision, light, and tension.
On the nose, aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and white peach mingle with sea salt and wet stone. The palate is taut and linear, unfolding layers of citrus, saline minerality, and a whisper of almond.
