Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir

Alexandre Chartogne has turned his family estate in Merfy into one of the most exciting names in Champagne. Among his single-vineyard bottlings, Orizeaux is a standout — Pinot Noir from vines planted in 1970, rooted in sandy limestone and chalk soils that lend both depth and finesse.

The 2020 vintage was fermented and aged in neutral oak barrels, then matured for more than three years on the lees before disgorgement in December 2024. With only a touch of dosage, this Blanc de Noirs is all about clarity, tension, and a true sense of place.

In the glass, aromas of pear, red plum, and blood orange mingle with white flowers and chalky minerality. The palate is layered and textured, balancing ripe fruit with mouthwatering acidity and a long, saline finish. Elegant yet powerful, it’s Champagne that shines with shellfish, sushi, or refined poultry dishes — and just as rewarding on its own.
