Grapes: 100% Chardonnay

For six generations, the Péters family has been crafting crystalline Blanc de Blancs from their Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs. L’Esprit is their flagship vintage cuvée, designed to capture the character of the year across some of the estate’s best parcels.

The 2020 harvest brought excellent ripeness and balance. Fruit from Mesnil Monts Martin, Avize La Fosse, Cramant Chemin de Châlons, and Oger Belles Voyes was fermented in stainless steel to preserve clarity, then matured extensively on lees before disgorgement with a very low dosage of around 4–5 g/L.

Pale gold in the glass, the wine offers aromas of citrus zest, pear, and white flowers, with hints of almond and fresh brioche. The palate is precise and mineral-driven, balancing orchard fruit and lemon notes with chalky depth. The finish is long, saline, and refined — a Champagne of quiet power and finesse, equally at home as an aperitif or with oysters, shellfish, and poultry in cream sauces.
