Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with small portions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot
Ulysses vineyard was acquired in 2008 by Christian Moueix. Situated along Napa Valley’s Oakville bench and extending over an alluvial fan at the foot of the Mayacamas Range, the site was once part of the famed Charles Hopper ranch and it is exceptional for winegrowing.
The 2015 Ulysses embodies Napa Cabernet’s rich potential without excess: generous and structured in equal measure, with layers of dark fruit and refined tension that reflect both site and season. This is a vintage built for the long view — expansive now but with the balance and energy to evolve gracefully.
Fermented in small lots with native yeasts and aged in French oak to support rather than overwhelm, it offers a sophisticated aromatic profile: black cherry, cassis, and plum woven with cedar, graphite, and subtle spice. On the palate, dark fruit concentrates with fine tannins and vibrant acidity, leading into a long, elegant finish where mineral detail and savory nuance linger.
