Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
In the heart of Chambolle-Musigny’s Premier Cru zone, Maison Drouhin’s “Les Baudes” bottling steps out with poise and delicacy. The 2023 vintage conveys the slope’s signature elegance—transparent fruit, chalky spine and refined structure—all delivered in Drouhin’s measured style.
The winemaking emphasizes subtlety: gentle extraction, native-yeast fermentation and aging in fine French oak (a moderate proportion new) to preserve the vineyard’s voice rather than launch an orchard fruit assault. The result is Pinot Noir defined by lift and texture more than power.
The nose opens with red cherry, rose petal and a hint of dried herbs. The palate is silky and focused — cranberry and wild strawberry ride bright acidity, fine tannins and a cool mineral thread that pulls into a lingering, precise finish.
