Named for the winemaker’s son — and a nod to Shakespeare’s most famous stage direction — “Baby Bear” is a Syrah that balances Washington’s natural power with poise and polish. This shows how Syrah from these high desert sites can be both generous and graceful.

Fermentation unfolds in small lots with gentle extraction, followed by aging in French oak to shape texture without obscuring fruit. The result is Syrah with richness and lift — dark and glossy but never heavy.

The nose opens with blackberry, violet, and cracked pepper, layered with notes of olive tapenade, graphite, and warm spice. The palate is supple and balanced, showing ripe fruit framed by fine tannins and a hint of savory minerality. The finish is long, dark-fruited, and quietly powerful.
