Grapes: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
In the limestone-rich hills of Sancerre, the Neveu family has quietly refined their craft for generations. The “Pierre François Xavier” Vieilles Vignes cuvée stands as their statement wine — drawn only from oldest vines and top terroirs, and aged in barrel rather than stainless steel. This combination gives the wine depth and aging potential rarely found in this appellation.
Fermented with native yeasts, the wine spends extended time on lees in fine oak barrels, allowing texture to build beneath the crisp mineral frame. The approach emphasises site expression over varietal flamboyance.
The nose opens with white peach, grapefruit zest and sun-warmed flint. On the palate you’ll find taut citrus, crushed oyster shell minerality and a brush of almond skin. The finish is long, refined and carries the cool air of Sancerre’s high slopes. A wine for now, and for cellaring.
