Bodega Chacra has put Patagonia firmly on the map for world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Founded by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, whose family is behind Tuscany's legendary Sassicaia, the estate is based in Argentina's remote Río Negro Valley. For its white wines, Piero has enlisted the expertise of Jean-Marc Roulot, one of Burgundy's most celebrated Chardonnay producers. Quite the partnership, and one that has produced some extraordinary results!

Mainqué takes its name from a small town in the Río Negro Valley, where the combination of intense sunshine, cool nights and Patagonian winds gives Chardonnay a distinctive personality. Farmed biodynamically, the vineyards produce fruit with both concentration and freshness. The 2025 is crafted with Roulot's Burgundian sensibility, using a thoughtful combination of oak and concrete to develop texture while preserving the wine's natural energy.

Fresh lemon, green apple and white peach meet delicate floral notes, toasted almond and a hint of flint. The palate has an appealing richness, but it's the vibrant citrus acidity and chalky mineral character that really make this wine sing. There's a subtle creaminess through the middle, followed by a long, precise and gently savoury finish. Fabulous with grilled lobster, scallops, roast chicken or mushroom risotto. A compelling meeting of Burgundian finesse and Patagonian personality, and a Chardonnay that deserves your attention.
