“Initial” is the quiet heartbeat of the Selosse cellar — a Champagne that captures the philosophy, not the myth of the house. Drawn from a perpetual reserve that spans multiple vintages, it’s a blend that tells a story of place more than time, expressing the essence of the Côte des Blancs through texture, tension, and depth.
Fermented in oak barrels using natural yeasts, this Champagne gains its dimension from long lees contact and deliberate aging before disgorgement. The 11/2024 release shows Selosse’s hallmark combination of richness and cut: a fine thread of body balanced by crystalline chalk and freshness.
The nose opens with notes of ripe pear, baked apple, and hazelnut, followed by hints of spice, honeycomb, and citrus oil. The palate is generous yet tightly coiled — layers of fruit and brioche framed by laser-focused acidity and that unmistakable saline minerality. Rare & amazing.

- For returns of wines which are corked, please re-seal after tasting and return us the (nearly) full bottle. We cannot exchange if the bottle has been consumed.
