Domaine Marquis d’Angerville is one of the great reference points for Volnay, with the family’s history in the village stretching back generations. Today, Guillaume d’Angerville oversees an enviable collection of vineyards, including the legendary Clos des Ducs. The domaine’s wines have never been about sheer power; their appeal lies in Pinot Noir’s ability to deliver perfume, finesse and complexity while still having the structure to evolve beautifully with age.
The 2024 Volnay Premier Cru brings together fruit from several of the domaine’s Premier Cru holdings, giving a broader view of Volnay rather than the expression of one individual vineyard. In a small and challenging vintage, careful selection was particularly important, and the resulting wine captures the more delicate, energetic side of the year.
Red cherry, raspberry and cranberry lead the way, joined by violet, subtle spice and an earthy, savory note underneath. It’s graceful rather than weighty, with fine tannins and bright acidity giving the fruit definition and carrying everything into a long, lifted finish. Beautiful Burgundy for duck, roast chicken, mushrooms or simply a good piece of cheese.

- For returns of wines which are corked, please re-seal after tasting and return us the (nearly) full bottle. We cannot exchange if the bottle has been consumed.
- If the same product is not available, we will refund in full to the original form of payment.
