Grapes: 100% Chardonnay

Made by the ever-talented winemaker Jasmine Hirsch, this is Charlie's current Chardonnay crush...

As with all the wines from Hirsch, the purpose of their Chardonnay is to bring you a transparent expression of this unique vineyard site, bringing the acidity and minerality of the site forward, with fruit and oak playing a secondary role. With less than 4 acres of Chardonnay vines, production is very limited, and 100% of the fruit is kept for the Estate. Their original Chardonnay cuttings come from Joe Rochioli, with both William Selyem and Kistler taking the fruit for years before Hirsch decided to make their own, and keep 100% for their own estate wines.

The 2022 Chardonnay is an exotic, rich and concentrated expression of our site. The wine opens with notes of lemon curd, peaches, patisserie cream and lightly toasted almonds. On the palate, the wine is silky and textured, with incredible energy and freshness. Hints of honey and beeswax emerge with air. The color is a vibrant gold, complimenting the luxuriousness of the palate.
