Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
In the cool hills above Pernand-Vergelesses, Maison Champy’s “Clos de Bully” Rouge exemplifies the estate’s ambition: vines planted on steep, stony slopes yield Pinot Noir of structure and clarity rather than mere weight. The 2023 vintage builds on that intention, offering bright fruit, refined tannins and a strong sense of place.
Fermented with precision and aged in fine French oak (a measured portion new), the wine is crafted to showcase site texture and minerality rather than overt power. The result is a Burgundy that feels elegant and grounded in vineyard character.
The bouquet lifts with red cherry, wild raspberry and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, the expression remains firm yet poised — red fruit wrapped in fine tannins, marked by crisp acidity and a chalky finish that lingers with subtle spice. A refined red Burgundy for now and for cellar potential.
